September Newsletter
Thanks to all who came to our Open House in August, it was a beautiful day and went off without a hitch. We are expecting a busy fall, full of lessons and competitions.
Competition updates:
It has been a busy August at Radnor Hunt Stables.
First… Sydney Hayday had an impressive win at Waredaca, which was her first event with her new horse Jack. Congratulations Sydney & Jack! Gillian also had a great finish with Isabella on a tough Intermediate course, finishing all three phases with only time faults.
The Bucks County Starter brought a fine finish for the group. Morgan had two good rounds finishing 2nd and 3rd on Merlin and Nik respectively. Lisa and Preston are continuing their great season with a 2nd place finish. Sydney had another great day with Jack also finishing second. Sacha completed her first event on Liam, and Grace completed her first event on Balin, and Alyssa Hartmann who just started riding last year and completed her another event with Bentley.
Summer Camp:
Summer camp has officially come to an end and lessons are back in full swing. However, we may be offering mini-clinics over some long weekends after the competition season ends later in October. Stay tuned for more information on those.
Thanks to all who supported our most successful season of Camp Cairn O’Mount to date. We welcomed a record number of new students, many of whom will continue to ride with us through the year. We are very much looking forward to seeing them progress and become part of the Cairn O’Mount family.
Thank you also to our many staff whose upbeat personalities and long summer hours made camp so enjoyable to all of our kids.
Sale Horses:
Two of our horses have come up for sale, Monty and Merlin. For more information, please visit our website’s sale page: http://www.radnorhuntstables.com/Cairn_OMount_Stables/Sale_Horses.html
Lessons:
Our 10-week Fall Lesson began August 30th. Those still wishing to inquire about lessons may do so by calling the stable. There are a few openings for group lessons still available.
News:
We wish Grace Hartman all the best as she leaves Cairn O’Mount to focus on school full time. She has been a great asset to the stable over the last year, and she will be missed. Hopefully, she will miss us so much she’ll still teach the odd weekend lesson J
Best of luck to Sacha who has returned to Virginia to finish school... Sacha joined us for the summer at Radnor Hunt Stables and assisted with riding and summer camp. We’re hoping she finds her way back next summer.
Also related to Sacha… Congratulations on her purchase of Liam! Those two were surely meant for each other. Both of their absences are still noticed after the few weeks that have gone by.
Congratulations to Sydney Hayday on her new horse Jack! They have become fast friends and are looking forward to a strong finish of the competition season.
Congratulations Morgan McCue on her new horse Annie! While this news just became official in the last few days, we’re certain this will be a great match and looking forward to seeing the pair of them excel.
Congratulations also go to Alyssa Hartmann and Sophia Hurley who are taking the next steps in furthering their goals by leasing Jewels and Merlin respectively.

Congratulations to all those who competed at Devon!!! We had four riders make their Devon debut. Avery and Grace both made a picture perfect presentation during their lead line class. This was followed by a great ride by Hannah, Lisa, and Morgan who teamed up for Hunt Teams taking 5th in a big class. Not, of course, to be outdone by Susie, Gillian, and Doug whose last ride won the Hunt Teams Class. Right back into the ring for Amanda and Susie for the Parent Child class and another win!
